KnicksThe results of the NBA Draft were just unveiled and, to the relief of every team in the NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunder did not pull off the upset and land a top three pick. In fact, pretty much everything went according to plan. Unless, of course, you’re the New York Knicks. The Knicks, who finished with a 17-65 record, had the second-best odds to land the #1 overall pick, and, barring a major surprise wouldn’t pick less than fifth. Well, they could only do one better, as the slightly-less-terrible Lakers and Sixers leap frogged them into the top three.

Meanwhile, the lottery went exactly as planned for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who landed the #1 pick for the first time in franchise history, even though whoever they pick will join Andrew Wiggins, last year’s #1 pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Update: Here’s footage from a draft lottery viewing party.
