There’s sports rivalries, and then there’s what the Yankees were doing to the Red Sox for 86 years.
After the Red Sox came back from an 0-3 deficit in the 2004 World Series to break the “curse of the Bambino”, singer James Taylor was so inspired, that he wrote a song to commemorate his team’s triumph. From his first album in 13 years, the single titled “Angels of Fenway,” chronicles his experience as a fan, and what the championship means to the city of Boston.
He, of course, debuted the song for fans in attendance at Sunday’s Yankees vs. Red Sox game at none other than Fenway Park. I’m sure he wasn’t trying to rub it in or anything.
You can watch the debut of the track below courtesy of the MLB.
