Sure, one could make the argument that James Harden has done more with less this season but no one has done MORE this season than Stephen Curry.
This was abundantly clear when the Warriors took on the Portland Trailblazers on Thursday night. Not only did Curry propel his team to yet another home victory (Golden State is 36-2 at home this season). Not only did Curry score 45 points AND dish out ten assists. Not only did Curry score 19 points and dish out two assists on 7-for-7 shooting in the fourth quarter.
Curry also broke the NBA’s single-season record for made 3-pointers that was set by… Steph Curry last year.
Curry broke the record with 273 3-point makes tonight. Since the line was introduced, 373 teams have failed to hit that mark in a season.

Curry is currently sitting on 276 3-pointers with three games left to go for his first-seed Warriors (64-15). One can quibble about what “valuable” means in the MVP race but if this is all the NBA can say about Steph Curry, the award should be his to lose at this point.
Curry is unfair

On the season, Curry is averaging 23.9 points, 7.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He is also averaging 8.1 3-point attempts while making an absurd 44.2% of them.
