It’s no secret that Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash share a deep and meaningful friendship. The two basketball greats both joined the Dallas Mavericks in 1998 and they’ve been close ever since.
So, when Nash announced his retirement over the weekend, we all should have known that it would be Dirk who would have the best tribute to Nash’s career in the NBA.
On Sunday, Nowitzki was asked for his reaction to Nash’s retirement on an ESPN podcast. Dirk chose to honor Steve in the most hilarious way possible.
Dirk on Nash: He overcame a lot in his career, being injured, and being slow, and white and unathletic

Discounting the fact that Nash was anything but “slow” and “unathletic” in his prime, I don’t think there will be a better sendoff to Steve Nash’s career than the one that Dirk thoughtfully offered ESPN.
