The first installment of this week’s Wednesday Night Rivalry featured the Red Wings visiting the Blackhawks in Chicago, where their tightly-contested Original Six matchup went to a shootout to decide a winner.
Detroit’s highly talented young guns Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar came up big with some absolutely sick moves to beat ‘Hawks goaltender Corey Crawford.
Nyquist pulled this slick move on Crawford following a miss from Pavel Datsyuk (yes, that happens sometimes) and it’s basically is the hockey equivalent of an ankle-breaking crossover.
Then, after a Patrick Kane miss (yes, that also happens!), Tatar managed to pull a Kane-esque sequence of moves that put Crawford in the torture chamber. This wound up being the game-winner for Detroit, and what a beauty it was.
