Doug Baldwin will be writing a check for his interesting celebration during Super Bowl XLIX. The feisty Seahawks receiver was flagged for pretending to pull down his pants after scoring a wide open touchdown in their loss to the Patriots. It still remains unclear what exactly he was doing, why he did it and who he was directing it at.
But it really does not matter to the league, as it was first reported by FOX Sports that the move cost Baldwin $11,025. The fine is not surprising, as an excessive celebration and/or obscene gesture move almost always draws a subsequent fine.
The league has yet to hand down fines, or more, against those involved in the borderline brawl near the end of the game. Seattle defensive end Bruce Irvin was ejected in the closing seconds and should expect to receive more than a minor $11k fine.
