This has been a pretty interesting week for Taylor Swift. Not only did her new album 1989 (which is great, by the way) get released, but she’s also been spending quite a bit of time with the New York Knicks for some reason.
A few days ago the pop star was spotted in Knicks gear, goofing around and taking photos (like the one you see above) with the team during their practice at Madison Square Garden. While Carmelo Anthony doesn’t appear to be particularly entertained by Swift’s presence in that photo, Amar’e Stoudemire is a different story. That man looks thrilled, and it’s probably because he bought 1989 (did I mention that it’s awesome?) and decided that Taylor would be his new best friend.
The odd yet adorable duo seems to work pretty well together, as evidenced by this highlight reel:

So well, in fact, that they now apparently grace the jumbotron together at Knicks home games. Yup, that’s Stoudemire singing Taylor’s smash hit “Shake It Off” for all to see during last night’s season opener against the Bulls at MSG. Kind of awkward, but also pretty fitting considering the Knicks will likely have their share of haters hate hate hating this season.
Speaking of the season opener, Taylor was on hand with a model friend (and Ben Stiller!) to watch Amar’e and the Knicks get stomped by Chicago. She might want to get used to that if her new relationship with Amar’e is going to last. Then again, we all pretty much know how that goes. Can’t wait for the song about Stoudemire!
