Twitter has given fans immediate access to athletes everywhere and it’s about the only reason that stories like this can happen. A random Royals fan hit up reliever Brandon Finnegan on Twitter to ask for some playoff tickets. Finnegan not only stated that he’d have two tickets at will call for the fan, he also offered to get dinner with the guy afterwards. Talk about fan service.
Between this and the puppy story, it’s getting pretty hard to not root for the Royals.
