UPDATE: Kevin Rose has just resigned from Digg, the social news site that he started in 2004.
Kevin Rose, co-founder of Digg, is preoccupied these days trying to be a playboy. That or he’s spending more time using alternative social news sites. I think he’s busy doing both. Last August, the same month as Digg’s relaunch, they had 18 million visitors to the site. Compare that with the less than 12 million visitors this past January. That’s a quick and significant 33% drop in traffic.
According to TechCrunch and Kevin’s profile, he hasn’t submitted a story on Digg in over a month. In the last 30 days Kevin sent 181 tweets on Twitter and had only 7 actions on Digg—he’s 26x more active on Twitter than on the platform of the company he started.
NOTE: I just learned Kevin Rose is 34 years old. I could have sworn he was 16.
