Remember yesterday when the Tigers answered a big Orioles home run by smacking two of their own consecutively? Yeah, well…they just did it again.
J.D. Martinez and Nick Castellanos went back-to-back on Friday afternoon in Baltimore, smacking blasts on two consecutive pitches from Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen in the fourth inning of ALDS Game 2. Chen was pulled just a few batters later.
The homers followed a big two-run homer by Nick Markakis in the previous half-inning and gave the Tigers a 5-2 lead in a crucial game of the series.
