In news which should shock absolutely nobody, Tim Duncan has agreed to opt in to the final year of his contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
The Duncan and Pop marriage has been a long and fruitful one, filled with championships and staggering amounts of consistent success. Expect more of the same from the Spurs and Duncan next season:

To put that $10.3 million into perspective, Emeka Okafor’s salary is about $14.5 million. JaVale McGee makes a tad more than Duncan ($10.75 million).
So Duncan will exercise option on his '2014-15 contract and he will revisit his future with Spurs next summer.

“Revisit his future” has to be code-words for “decides whether to retire as the greatest player of the 2000’s.” At the very least, this news confirms that Tim Duncan will return to the Spurs next year where he will inevitably lead the Spurs deep into the playoffs and continue to entertain the world with the joys of “Duncan face”.
