It appears that we have our first well-documented scuffle of the new NFL season and it involves one of the league’s brightest stars.
Richard Sherman got into a heated battle with wide receiver Phil Bates at minicamp practice on Wednesday, a battle that quickly escalated into a fight with punches being thrown from both sides before teammates intervened.
Fights between teammates are nothing new in the NFL, especially during the intensity of minicamp and preseason. Fortunately for the Seahawks, no hard feelings appeared to be held after this one and many of the players involved – including Sherman and Bates – were seen joking around with each other shortly afterwards.
