Yu Darvish almost tossed a no-hitter against the Red Sox in Arlington on Friday night, but allowed a single David Ortiz with two outs in the 9th inning. It was Darvish’s 126th (and final) pitch of the night.
Unfortunately for Yu, he’s starting to make a habit out of this kind of thing. The Japanese pitcher lost a perfect game & no-hitter with two outs in the 9th inning of a game against the Astros last year, then lost a no-hitter in the eighth inning against…who else…the Astros again later in 2013.
This tiny Rangers fan was not pleased about missing out on his first no-hitter.
