Celebrations commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing were marred Tuesday evening, when a barefoot man wearing a black veil and two backpacks, dropped one of the backpacks near the finish line and walked away. Witnesses reported the man was acting strange and yelling “Boston Strong”.
Police evacuated Boylston Street and the bomb squad is currently on the scene.
UPDATE: The man has been charged with possession of a hoax device, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. Bomb squad detonated both backpacks, one of which held a rice cooker.
