The Edmonton Oilers may be one of the worst teams in the NHL this season, but they’re not exactly apologizing to fans for their performance this season. Instead, one Oilers fan has spent some time and money to do just the opposite, taking out a newspaper ad to apologize to the team:
The apology comes after several frustrated Oilers fans have tossed their jerseys onto the ice during the team’s struggles this season. Newcomer Ben Scrivens even threw one back at one point:
Jay Brown was obviously not a fan of those actions and decided to take Canadian politeness to a new level. Maybe the Oilers should go ahead and apologize to him (and the rest of their fans) for their decade-long rebuilding process that seems to be going nowhere fast.
