The day of reckoning has come for Alex Rodriguez as he was handed down a severe blow by an independent arbitrator. The New York Yankees third baseman will be suspended for the entire 2014 season as well as the entire postseason. The ruling was announced on Saturday morning by Fredric Horowitz and will cost Rodriguez $25 million in salary, plus millions in any incentives he would have received. Major League baseball gets nearly all of it’s original 211-game suspension from the Biogenesis scandal and it is the game’s longest PED suspension, Miguel Tejada was the previous leader in that dubious category with 105 games. Rodriguez who turns 40 during the 2015 season, will most likely take this legal battle to the federal court system in a last ditch effort to preserve the final years of his career.
