In the winter of 1983 brew masters Sierra Nevada created their beastly Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale and every January since they have carefully brewed their specialty beer. It takes six days to create their ale in their open fermenters and the fine folks at Sierra Nevada were kind enough to share this amazing time-lapse video that shows how yeast is a living creature, metabolizing, reproducing, and living off the ingredients in the beer. They definitely don’t show this on the beer commercials.
