UPDATE: Justine has landed and deleted her Twitter account. She is also nowhere to be found on the IAC website.
Justine Sacco is a corporate communications officer for IAC. If you aren’t familiar with IAC they are the parent media company to sites such as The Daily Beast, About.com, Match.com and Ask.com, Vimeo, Tinder, OkCupid, CollegeHumor, Dictionary.com and more.
The Tweet was posted before she boarded a flight, and as of this post she had yet to land. She may be in for a little surprise when wheels hit ground.
A statement was given by IAC which read as the following:
“This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC. Unfortunately, the employee in question is unreachable on an international flight, but this is a very serious matter, and we are taking appropriate action.”
Odds are fairly high that she will say her account was hacked, and we hope it was…
