Like them or not, Sam Raimi’s Spiderman movies were a big part of comic book movies becoming more mainstream.
Raimi, along with stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, brought your friendly neighborhood spider and his rogue’s gallery to life, showing the true possibilities of super hero stories on the big screen. Unfortunately, studio politics and disagreements on storylines got in the way, and Spiderman 3 plopped onto the scene with awful reviews. It was not good. Not. Good.
Shame, then, that the movie didn’t live up to previous success, as what was next has been revealed, and it looks pretty interesting. As reported by CinemaBlend, illustrator and writer Jeffrey Henderson has posted concept art for Spiderman 4, showing off villains Vulture and Mysterio for the potential sequel.
It’s only a few illustrations, but it’s enough to make you wonder what could’ve been. Good news for the Vulture, though, as it appears the character may be involved in Spiderman: Homecoming, the second reboot (wait, the second? Seriously?) and first collaboration between Sony and Marvel. Here’s wishing Spidey the best, and that don’t have to re-re-reboot his damn storyline anymore.
