The question posed in the headline is being asked by many following some leaked Twitter direct messages Cosart sent to a gambling advisor.

Take a look:

Obviously, just being a gambling man doesn’t automatically implicate Cosart, but – after some investigative work by curious Twitter bettors – there are definitely some red flags surrounding Cosart’s performances on the mound. Certain trends indicate there may be a possibility the former Astros and current Marlins pitcher has intentionally thrown games and shaved runs.

Big Cat from Barstool Chicago posted some of the damning numbers – most of which were dug up by @TheHandicaper – so head over there if you want a better look at why Cosart may find himself in a heap of trouble.

Again, it’s probably a stretch to say the guy was betting on baseball just based off of some leaked DMs, but there’s certainly some potential for this story to get very ugly now that the door has been opened. The fact that Cosart also deleted his Twitter account right after the messages were leaked tells me the guy might have something to hide, but we’ll have to wait until more comes of the story before judgement is passed.
