The NHL’s leading scorer, Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, is expecting to miss a significant amount of time after suffering an upper body injury during Tuesday night’s game against the Florida Panthers.
Kane crashed awkwardly into the boards after a cross-check from Florida defenseman Alex Petrovic in the first period and immediately left the game. He didn’t return. Kane appeared to fall shoulder-first against the dasher and, according Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune, may have suffered a broken collarbone as a result. That certainly wouldn’t bode well with the ‘Hawks, who are looking to make a strong playoff push in the West.
Another source said #Blackhawks' Patrick Kane will be sidelined more than six weeks and possibly up to 10-plus weeks.
