Remember that Royals fan who had a sign which stated that her boyfriend would buy her a dog if the Royals won the game?
Well, after the Royals won that game it now appears that the fan’s boyfriend made good on his promise.

The dog’s name is Lucy but the couple reportedly prefers “Rally,” a name which is more appropriate for the Royal’s Wild Card game and for dogs more generally.
The Kansas City Star reports on the “blessed event” for Katie Castan and her boyfriend: “The pooch’s name is Lucy, although the couple also favor the name Rally. As in, how the Royals rallied to win that Wild Card Game.” Castan told the Star that the Corgi is “the dog of my dreams” and that “we couldn’t be more grateful” for the people who offered to help find her a dog after her sign went viral.
The Royals have since swept the Angels in three straight games. We’ll just go ahead and credit Lucy/Rally for the team’s success. It seems only right.
