We’ve still got about a week to go before the NHL regular season gets underway, but it appears that the Edmonton Oilers are in mid-season form defensively. Unfortunately for the team and their fans, that is not very good news.
The Oilers Oiled so hard during the second period of Thursday’s preseason game against the Canucks, playing the ever-effective “swarm defense” while on the power play in their own zone. Yes, on the power play.
Four Oilers players apparently felt some sort of magnetic pull towards Alex Burrows, who shifted the puck to Alex Edler at the point, who then found a WIDE OPEN Nick Bonino in front of the net. You can probably guess what happened next.
Gonna be another fun season in Edmonton.
