The news of Irving’s decision should ease a lot of tension in Cleveland, as a cloud of discontent seemed to hover over the team as a young roster — consisting of four lottery picks in three seasons — attempted to mesh this season. However, landing the #1 pick in the draft, and selecting Wiggins, was a big step towards righting the ship. And, while we won’t say it was the clinching factor in keeping Kyrie, it probably didn’t hurt.
