Champ Bailey was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1999 and he played there through the 2003 season. He is an incredibly well-respected cornerback who has been to twelve Pro Bowls, been selected to 7 All-Pro teams, and he’s a member of the NFL’s All-2000’s squad. He is, without a doubt, a future Hall of Famer. And he doesn’t think that the term “Redskins” should be used anymore:
Considering the amount of momentum that the side of non-racist sports names has on its side right now, it may just be a matter of time before the name “Redskins” is finally put to rest.
Never count out the stubbornness of team owner Dan Snyder though.
“I get it, he doesn’t want to change it,” Bailey said of Snyder. “But he’s making it worse than it should be.”
