Marc Cuban is one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time because he’s not afraid to take risks and just completely disrupt the status quo. Baylor’s Brittney Griner was an absolute dominant force in women’s college hoops over the last 4 years. Her least important stat, but most eye opening is her 18 in game dunks. In his typical “they go right, I go left” fashion – Mark Cuban says he would love to have her on the Mavericks.
The Dallas owner said if she’s the best player on the board in the second round, they’ll consider taking her:
From ESPN:
“If she is the best on the board, I will take her,” Cuban said before the Mavs’ Tuesday night game against the Los Angeles Lakers. “I’ve thought about it. I’ve thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I’d lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it. You never know unless you give somebody a chance, and it’s not like the likelihood of any late-50s draft pick has a good chance of making it.”
If Griner were given a tryout with the Mavericks, she wouldn’t be the first women to do it. Former UCLA Lady Bruin Ann Meyers tried out for the Pacers in 1979.
