The L.A. Kings social media folks have been known to stir up some controversy. If you recall, the @LAKings twitter account sent out a “controversial” tweet during the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after the Kings beat the Vancouver Canucks.
The Kings took on the Phoenix Coyotes last night in the second of two back-to-back games. On Monday night, the Kings shut the Yotes out 4-0, and on Tuesday, they beat their 2012 Western Conference Final opponents again by a score of 3-2. There is not an ounce of love lost between these two teams. The crowd at Staples Center relentlessly chanted “Doan, You Suck!” after he was thought to have taken a heinous dive after colliding with Kings rookie defenseman Jake Muzzin. Doan went after Muzzin and tried to fight him, causing the Kings twitter account to send out the following tweet:
Shane Doan must have been checking twitter from behind the bench because he ended up scoring 2 late goals for the Coyotes after the tweet was sent out. But did the Kings social media care? Not according to their Instagram:
