Looks like Serge Ibaka took some notes from Nicholas Batum in the Summer Olympics game. After leading by as much as 19 points, the Oklahoma City Thunder allowed the Los Angeles Clippers to crawl within three in the final 2 minutes, where Serge Ibaka hits Blake Griffin in a particularly sensitive region in their fight for rebounding position.
While the hit looked malicious, Serge was only given a flagrant 1 foul. Which really should been an ejection. I don’t care if some of you conspiracy theorists that thought Ibaka might have missed, you are getting an ejection for any assault attempt at one’s private area. No one should ever stoop that low (pun intended, of course).
But the foul didn’t do the Thunder any good either. They end giving up a a 7 point possession to give the Clippers, their first lead of the game. However, things would go south again for the Clippers, as Serge would foul Blake out of the game on a 3 point play to really get the better him. What happened to “no bad deed goes unpunished.” Did my mom lie again?
