Time to dig right in with the rookie who is turning heads across the league for the Trail Blazers.
Damian Lillard was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2012 draft and he is averaging an astounding 19.2 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds a game for the Portland Trail Blazers this year. Rookie of the year honors are his to lose at this point. Lillard came in and took the starting point guard role from the first game, and has been comfortable as the floor leader ever since. Since 1985, Lillard is just third player to record 300 points and 100 assists in his first 17 career games. The other two were a certain Allen Iverson and Derrick Rose.
Is he fun to watch though? Evidence below from Monday Night’s contest against the Bobcats.
