Joe Biden President Joe Biden speaks during the State of the Union address from the House chamber of the United States Capitol in Washington.

The Las Vegas Aces embarked on their White House visit recently to celebrate their 2023 WNBA Championship win. But unfortunately, perhaps the biggest takeaway from the day came when President Joe Biden made a pretty embarrassing mistake on the podium congratulating one of the team members.

Candace Parker is widely known by much of the sports world as one of the best women’s basketball players of all time. But seemingly, Joe Biden didn’t know that she was actually a player, incorrectly calling her “one of the greatest all-time coaches”.

“While she couldn’t be here,” Biden said of Parker via TMZ, “I want to acknowledge someone who we consider one of the greatest all-time coaches, Candace Parker. “She announced her retirement from the game and I wanna thank her for an incredible career.”

Biden did at least know that Parker had recently retired from the game of basketball after an illustrious 16-year professional career. But he was absolutely incorrect in his assessment of Parker being a coach, as she has never coached a game.

Luckily, this was the only mistake on the day from him. But obviously, it’s a hard one to ignore considering Parker is undoubtedly one of the most well-known women’s basketball players of all time.

As you would expect, many fans took to social media to point out Biden’s embarrassing mistake.
