During the WNBA offseason, many of the league’s players choose to play overseas to help supplement their income and get a little more playing time and reps in preparation for the next season. However, Caitlin Clark made a rather important decision in that regard.
During a press conference this week, Caitlin Clark was asked about her plans this offseason and she made it clear that she does not intend to play overseas or join any other domestic basketball leagues.
Instead, she intends to rest and work on another sport: golf.
Clark joked that this offseason, she intends to become a professional golfer.
“That’s what I’m gonna do until it gets too cold in Indiana. So I’ve got that, become a professional golfer,” Clark said according to Athlon Sports.
This is a pretty important decision for Clark given how much time she has spent on the court in recent months.
Clark played the entire college basketball season, leading the Iowa Hawkeyes all the way to the national title game against South Carolina on April 7. About a week later, Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever in the WNBA Draft and began preparation for the WNBA season, which began less than a month after that.
Clark has not had a lot of time to rest this year. Now, she’ll finally get a chance to do that.
