The disappearance and death of 20-year old hockey player Terry Trafford has been a tragic and heart-wrenching ordeal, and one that has raised a lot of questions over the past week and a half.
What can’t be questioned, however, is that the world lost a talented young athlete far before his time and now it’s time to remember and mourn the kid who had visions of a career playing professional hockey.
After canceling a game to mourn Trafford’s death earlier this week, the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit – the team Trafford last donned a sweater for – have erected a billboard in Terry’s memory over a Saginaw, Michigan highway. The billboard features a photo of the late center with his name and birth/death year beside it:

After being missing for eight days, Trafford was found dead in his pickup truck parked in the lot of Walmart this past Tuesday. Autopsy ruled the cause of death as self-inflicted asphyxiation.
The tragic events unfolded after Trafford went missing on March 3rd, days after the Spirit dismissed him from the team for undisclosed “disciplinary reasons.”
