After the Boston Celtic’s convincing 105-89 win over the Denver Nuggets tonight in Boston, Celtic forward Kevin Garnett was compelled to seek out Nuggets coach George Karl to give him an explanation of the “Cancer Patient” comments that Garnett allegedly made to Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva earlier in the year.
Karl is a throat cancer survivor and Garnett wanted to explain the alleged comments.
Garnett explained:
I just went over, and I know there was some speculation, I’m not going to get into it because we all know what I’m talking about here, … I went up to him as a man and I told him what I said and I told him I had nothing personal towards him or any other cancer patient that are out there struggling, dealing with life situations. I wanted to say that to him, man to man.
