German Olympic athlete Robert Förstemann is as ripped as any athlete in the world, and his 74cm legs are a testament to that. In a very interest experiment Förstemann took on a 700w toaster to see if those massive legs could generate enough energy to create a golden-brown toast. Stockholm Academy Nathan Grossman is the creator of the video and said he wanted “to find a new way to make people think about how much energy they actually use.”
Well, the answer is that he actually made it happen but not without a struggle. At the end of the day, this Olympic athlete able to get to the 700w range and turn that piece of white bread a bit brown, but he was only able to last at the 700w range for a few seconds as he tired himself out quite quickly.
The big takeaway from the video is it would take 1 Robert to toast a slice of bread, 180 Roberts to power a car, and 43,000 Roberts to power an airplane.
