Goalies generally feel pretty crappy when they let in a goal, so you can imagine how terrible Christian Engstrand felt when he managed to score one of the worst own-goals ever on his own net during a recent game.
The Swedish netminder left his crease to collect a loose puck and – upon seeing an opposing player bearing down on him – turned around and attempted to bank the puck around the boards behind his net. Unfortunately, Engstrand misfired and ended up shooting the puck straight into his own goal, providing the opposing team with what would eventually turn into the game-winning goal.
You can pretty much see the wave of regret crash over Engstrand as soon as the puck leaves his stick. Brutal.
