Scripps National Spelling Bee contestant Jairam Hathwar misspells the word “drahthaar” and the anguish on his face is obvious. Also obvious, and quite hilarious, is the shade his last remaining competitor, Nihar Janga, throws at him.
As soon as Hathwar says the wrong letter, Janga can be seen shaking his head. He also tightens his lips to hold back a smile as he relishes in his opponent’s mistake.
When Hathwar returns to his seat Janga applauds the error, inching his clapping hands closer and closer to Hathwar’s head.
The two eventually became co-champions as the spelling bee ended in a tie. However, Janga’s shade shows no mercy. As they were announced co-champions Hathwar ran up to Janga for a high five but hit nothing but air.

Janga, an Austin native and Dez Bryant fan, got props from Bryant for throwing up his trademark celebration “X” and may even get to go to game courtesy of Dez in the near future.
