It’s not easy to be declared father of the year by Cosby Sweaters but Scott Filler of Decatur Georgia who, it seems, will do anything to make sure his four-year old son is safe including, but not limited to, punching a fourteen year old girl in the face, has surely earned the honor according to Mike McWilliam of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office:
The 14-year-old girl from Mexico had been skiing on a beginner run, which Beaver Creek officials have identified as Haymaker trail, with a ski school class when she swerved to avoid a skier who had fallen in front of her, the statement said. The girl bumped into a 4-year-old boy who had been skiing with his father on the same run, McWilliam said. The boy and girl fell, the statement said.
The father of the 4-year-old boy said he thought his son had been seriously hurt and that the girl had been skiing carelessly, McWilliam said. Police said the man jumped on top of the girl and hit her in the face with his fist, McWilliam said in the statement. The skiing instructor intervened and stopped the father from further assaulting the girl, the statement said. The father then realized his son was not injured and apologized for his inappropriate behavior, McWilliam said.
A decent father would be worried about his son. A good father would immediately check on his son. A great father would immediately seek revenge for his son (who might or might not be hurt). Only a truly world class father would immediately seek revenge by punching a 14-year old girl in the face until pulled off her by a ski instructor.
Shockingly, despite Filler’s apology, charges have been filed. Get the full story here.
