More bad news in the world of tennis.
Now is a rough time for tennis fans. Following the banning of Maria Sharapova, Spaniard and head accessories enthusiast Rafael Nadal announce that he won’t be playing in Wimbledon due to a wrist injury. Sports Illustrated reports that this is the same wrist injury that kept him away from the French Open last month, with Nadal stating “… it’s a very tough decision, but the injury I suffered at Roland Garros needs time to heal.”
This will be the first time the no. 4 ranked player won’t participate in the tournament since 2009, having won it twice in 2008 and 2010. Wimbledon plays on, however, starting June 27th.
