South Korea didn’t have a good World Cup. The team managed to draw once and lose twice and when the team returned home a few days ago, some fans were not too pleased with what they watched over the past couple of weeks and they displayed their displeasure by throwing toffee candies at the players.
While this seems like a really, well, sweet way to welcome back a bunch of twenty-year olds who tried their hardest against the world’s best soccer players, just know that the toffees are considered to be a bit of a phallic insult in Korea and that the phrase “eat toffee” can also mean “eat a dick”.
That’s a whole lot of dicks.
One has to admit that’s quite the rough way to return home after a disappointing performance. At least the team won’t go hungry.
