Last week was a rough week for United States President Joe Biden after a report questioned his memory, leading him to defend himself in a press conference. And now, he’s being ridiculed by Republicans for his performance in the press conference.

The report from a special counsel described the current president’s memory as “hazy,” “fuzzy,” “faulty,” “poor” and having “significant limitations.” Joe Biden quickly went to a press conference to defend himself, claiming that his memory is “fine,” but he made a pretty major mistake in that same press conference when he referred to Egypt’s leader Abdel Fattah El-Sissi as “the president of Mexico.”

This led Republicans to criticize him in a pretty brutal way, making use of a sports meme to mock Biden.

“Joe Biden to his staff: ‘We need to go on the offense tonight,'” the House Judiciary GOP said in a post on social media, sharing a photo of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team in the huddle on offense.

Obviously, the Iowa Hawkeyes have been notoriously terrible on offense the past few years, so this meme led to a lot of reactions on social media.

It’s a pretty brutal joke for everyone who understood the reference.
