A Donald Trump supporter is claiming foul play by the New York Mets.
Aura Moody said that the franchise recently denied her and her friend Tasha entry to Citi Field due to their “Make America Great Again” red hats being deemed “too political” by a security official at a checkpoint.
Moody claims she was told to take the hats back to their cars before they could gain entry to the stadium, and that they couldn’t simply place the hats in their bags.
“The United States of America is no longer the vehicle of freedom and tolerance,” Moody told The New York Post. “I am living under a communist regime where our freedoms are trampled upon….that was the first thought that came to my mind.”
Moody claimed, without proof, that if she were wearing a “Black Lives Matter” hat, security would have let her enter the stadium without issue.
“We are conservative people, we believe in tolerance,” Moody told The Post. “If I was wearing a BLM, Biden, Harris hat, they would have let me go through.”
Moody went on to claim that when she was allowed entry, she saw “at least” eight MAGA hats in the stadium.
“When I got into the venue, I did see at least eight MAGA hats,” Moody said.
The Mets did not immediately respond to the controversy.
