Back at the end of 2022, WNBA superstar Brittney Griner was finally released after nearly 10 months in Russian custody where she was imprisoned after authorities found a small amount of prescription cannabis oil in her luggage. The United States brought her home by way of a prisoner swap that sent convicted Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout back to Russia, and Donald Trump is clearly still angry about it.

During an interview with YouTuber Logan Paul on his “Impaulsive” podcast, Donald Trump was asked about the prisoner swap that freed Brittney Griner and he did not hold back his criticism of the move, saying that it was “not the greatest trade” as he blasted Brittney Griner for refusing to stand for the national anthem.

Trump called Bout a “great arms dealer” and complained that he was traded for “the basketball player who wouldn’t stand up for the national anthem. She thought that was a good time to tie her sneakers. And that was not exactly the greatest trade. But he gave 6 billion dollars on top of it. Six billion, billion with a B, and they don’t know what they’re doing.”

Even years later, Trump was clearly not happy with the trade.
