Transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney was the source of a lot of headlines over the past few months after she was a part of a Bud Light promotional campaign that ultimately resulted in boycotts and backlash against the popular tailgate beer. But now, Dylan Mulvaney appears to be clapping back.
Last week, Mulvaney was given the award for Breakout Creator at the 2023 Streamy Awards. And during her acceptance speech, she had a pretty brutal message for the “extreme amount of transphobia and hate” that she has received over the past several weeks and months while still acknowledging how grateful she is for the award and how her life has changed.
“My life has been changed for the better,” Mulvaney said during her acceptance speech, according to the New York Post. “But also there’s been an extreme amount of transphobia and hate, and I know that my community is feeling it, and I know that even our allies are feeling it.”
Mulvaney then made it clear that she’s just going to keep doing her thing despite all the critics and backlash – and she even made reference to what got her into this situation in the first place.
B“I’m gonna go have a beer and… I love ya,” she said before leaving the stage to plenty of cheers.
