The Blackhawks are looking to replace some of the offensive firepower that they’ve lost with Patrick Kane injured and, although they’ve been rumored to be active in the market, they’re currently calling upon Teuvo Teravainen to step up to the plate.
The 20-year old Finnish forward was recalled from the AHL after Kane broke his collarbone this week, and the rookie managed to score a pretty awesome goal on his first shift back in The Show on Thursday night.
After collecting a pass from linemate Andrew Shaw, Teravainen looked Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo off the puck, hid the shot, and rifled a no-look laser at the net. The puck whizzed past Luongo’s shoulder for Teravainen’s third goal of the year and the first strike in the ‘Hawks 3-0 win over Florida.
He may not be Patrick Kane, but this kid certainly looks like he’s going to be fun to watch for years to come.
