Duncan Keith had a rare and cringeworthy lapse in judgement during Tuesday’s Game 3 in Los Angeles. During a Blackhawks offensive rush, Keith attempted to pick up his downed glove on the ice and appeared to be poked by Jeff Carter’s stick as Carter skated past. Keith reacted almost immediately and delivered an ugly, ugly one-handed slash to the face of Carter from behind, sending him straight to the ice.
It was a pitiful display by Keith that landed him a double minor for high sticking, but it will likely land him a suspension (possibly multiple games) as well, obviously a big blow for the Blackhawks. You want to see much smarter decisions than that from your veteran players, especially deep in the playoffs.
