If there were any doubts about the longstanding, vicious rivalry between the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers, the following video will likely put them to rest. Their sixth and final match-up of the season began with an all out brawl, including the starting six forwards for each team. Just three seconds after the drop of the puck, the Devils’ Cam Janssen, Eric Boulton and Ryan Carter decided to drop the gloves and square up against the Rangers’ Brandon Prust, Mike Rupp, and Stu Bickel. Sounds familiar, right? That’s because just over a month ago we saw Janssen vs. Rupp and Boulton vs. Prust a mere TWO seconds after puck drop.
Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador received a 10-minute game misconduct for trying to pull Bickel off of a bloody and battered Ryan Carter. It only took three seconds for the teams to accumulate a total of 50 penalty minutes. The following video helps to further prove that hockey is the greatest sport ever created. Enjoy.
