The Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos will play each other on Sunday in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs. As enormous as the game is for both teams, there are personal stakes for one star player.
Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller is one of the most revered Broncos players of all time. The last time the Broncos made it to the playoffs in 2015, Von Miller won MVP of the Super Bowl as the Broncos defeated Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.
Now that he’s facing the team that drafted him with everything on the line, Miller wasn’t shy about how he feels about Denver heading into Sunday.
“I’ve had two days to really think about it, and it’s all love,” Miller said, according to the Denver Post.
“I can’t even start to play [with] the delusion of hatred…I can’t even start to play that game.
“That would put myself so far in a place that’s not even close to being reality. It would be hurtful to the way I want to play. I love those guys. I love everything about the Denver Broncos.”
Still, that doesn’t mean Miller plans on taking his foot off the gas.
“I want to win,” Miller stated. “Those small, three to four-second bursts when I’m playing in the game, that 60 minutes when I’m out there, I want to win the game. I want to beat the Denver Broncos.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Miller can turn back the clock to end his old team’s season.
