The Miami Dolphins and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa are in the midst of contract negotiations as he heads into the final year of his contract. And even though the two sides have not worked out a new contract yet, it sounds like one Dolphins starter is convinced that they will get a deal done.
During a recent appearance on Up & Adams, Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead made it clear that he thinks the two sides will indeed get a contract done, sending a pretty clear message to his quarterback that the Dolphins “need Tua” in order to accomplish all of their goals as a team.
“It’s going to happen,” Armstead said according to Pro Football Talk. “Of course we stay out of the numbers and the negotiations, but it’s going to happen. We need Tua to go anywhere that we’re trying to go. All of our dreams, goals and aspirations are reliant on No. 1. The Dolphins know that, the organization knows that, the city, the league.”
While Armstead is clearly confident, recent reports suggested that Tagovailoa was seeking a market-value contract and the Miami Dolphins were not willing to give him that contract. We’ll have to see whether or not that changes in the coming weeks.
