Before she began dating Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce, pop sensation Taylor Swift was in a long-term relationship with Joe Alwyn that never led to an engagement despite their seven years together. But it doesn’t sound like she’s willing to do that again with Kelce.
An inside source recently told Life & Style Magazine that Taylor Swift “doesn’t want to waste more time” in a relationship that is not going to end in a marriage, so she wants to make her expectations very clear with Travis Kelce.
“Taylor is head over heels in love with Travis,” the insider told Life & Style Magazine. “She doesn’t want to waste more time, so she needs to make sure they’re on the same page about getting married.”
That said, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Kelce has to pop the question immediately; she just doesn’t want to wait around for years and wonder whether or not an engagement is ever going to happen.
“She’s not expecting a proposal tomorrow, but she does want to know he’s as serious as she is when it comes to marriage,” the source told Life & Style.
Of course, all of this comes after some heartbreak with Alwyn.
“Taylor changed so many things to accommodate Joe — she moved to London and agreed to reel in her outgoing personality because he was more of a homebody,” the insider said. “They’d spoken about starting a family and she patiently waited for him to propose. Every time Joe would arrange a romantic vacation or quiet dinner, she imagined the time had come. But after almost seven years, Joe was dragging his feet and she had to walk away.”
Clearly, Swift wants to avoid that same sort of heartbreak with Kelce.
