Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce got some very good news on Monday as the team signed him to a new two-year contract extension that not only secured his future with the team but also gave him a massive pay raise as well.
According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the new contract for Travis Kelce makes him the highest-paid tight end in the entire league. And his new paycheck will be quite a bit more significant.
“Compensation update: Travis Kelce signed a two-year, $34.25 million deal that includes $17 million fully guaranteed this year and most of next year guaranteed on day 3 of the league year in mid March,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This is a pretty significant pay raise for Kelce after he signed a four-year, $57.25 million extension with Kansas City in 2020 that expired this offseason. That previous contract paid Kelce an average of just over $14 million per season while the new contract will pay him more than $17 million a year on average.
Of course, it’s still nowhere near what his girlfriend Taylor Swift makes every year, but it’s still a pretty significant pay raise.
